Be your weird self

I have yet to be invited on to Desert Island Discs, though I have thought about my list, and I find myself choosing songs that make me look wise or intelligent or cultured.

But if I am really honest, it includes Teenage Kicks by The Undertones, When I Kissed the Teacher by Abba and Bryan Adams’ Summer of 69, all songs that make me want to dance and believe me, when I grew up, liking Abba was distinctly uncool so I kept that quiet.

We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.

As I have already said, everyone has a different way of “doing their thing.” Getting to be who you are and letting go of image and pretence have been a part of my business and relationship armament all my life and come under the heading of be yourself at all times.

It’s disarmingly endearing and creates rapport, which oils the wheels of agreement.
