‘Company’ can mean a group of like-minded people
My third company was in the TV business with some Americans.
At least I thought it was my company, but the only “like-mindedness” about us was that we all thought it was our company! So I learned that business partnerships are like marriages. After two “divorces” I figured that I might be better on my own and that is what I did in my final years in TV.
Actually I learned that, as with any relationship, it is more important to like the people you are in business with than to need them. That’s when I started YO! Sushi.
You have achieved excellence as a leader when people will follow you anywhere, if only out of curiosity.

When I was young I read Arthur Conan Doyle’s The White Company about a group of adventurers who rode around old England. I have always seen the word “company” this way. When a group of people are enjoying the same mission, quantum leaps in achievement can happen.
